The land of Aztecs, Egypt, 19th Century Europe, and other places in the world gave us some of the prolific art known to mankind. Here, young people have an opportunity to discover, duplicate, interpret, an re-­‐imagine these famous pieces.



Color Theory
For years, human beings have been fascinated with the ways colors paint our everyday lives. Here, children explore color through painting. They are encouraged to mix colors according to warm and cool motifs, contrasting and complimentary motifs, value motifs, and that of grey-­‐ scale. They will be challenged to negotiate all the ways color makes our world real, but also lends to our sense of fantasy and mystery.

This art program is all about the process of crafting original art works that explore children’s diverse concepts of beauty and splendor while encouraging them to share that individual sense of beauty in the building of a culminating mosaic masterpiece.
